A great spot to have a wonderful slice of pizza, cold beer and conversation is Chicago Rocco’s in Old Town. Whether by the slice or ordering your own pie, this location is walking distance to scenic Old Town and has a very close feel that will inspire conversation, smiles, and laughs. Their signature pizza is the Big Rocco a deep dish behemoth that looks delicious.
Janka and I are both thin crust people though, we couldn’t handle the truth (all the reviews seem to praise the deep dish), Chicago pizza is thick! I have to give rave reviews to the thin crust though, so even if you’re like me I guarantee you will like this restaurant. The owner Scott is a great guy that knows his pizza and the secret to excellent customer service. The Garlic Knots, and Onion Rings are other stand out points of this family owned restaurant.
Quench your thirst with a refreshing beer of your choice from the extensive selection (Stillhead was my choice while Janka opted for the mild flavor of White Ale). If you are wine lover, you can pop into Hortensia Deli and Market next door to pick out a bottle of wine and have it with your dinner. After a hearty meal stroll down to Old Town and check out the shops and snap a few photos. This is a great location for a first date or when you want a chance to have some great food and conversation
